You can ignore this for the pre-season, as it is most

Once again, we apologize to everyone for the waivers "snafu".
Not only were they processed in some of the leagues, but they
were not done in the correct order, and some of the leagues
it processed 2 rounds.
We will still be holding 2 rounds of Waiver selections before the
season starts, but they will be changed to :
- One round this Tuesday, August 31, at 8:00pm PST
- One round the following Tuesday, September 7, at 8:00pm PST

Subject: Draft changes / Enhancement

With the existing league pre-season drafts coming up soon, we wanted to
point out a couple of changes.
* You will have up to 10 hours to make your pick. If no selection is
made, your team is skipped and you lose your turn. (This encourages
use of the "Pre-Draft" option.)
* The Timer will NOT be on for the 1st round, so that everyone can get
used to the drafting and pre-drafting process. The Timer is also
suspended from 10pm to 6am PT daily.
* Note: Once the Timer expires on a team, that team will then be put on
"autodraft" for the remaining rounds.
The system will automatically make all picks for that team as soon
as they get on the draft clock. The system will automatically pick a
player for the team based on the highest-ranked available player
according to rankings displayed on the Draft Tracker page:

Subject: Ricky Williams - Part 2

For those teams that have Ricky Williams, you should wait
a day or a few to see what happens with him.
Existing Leagues pre-season drafts don't start until Monday,
Aug 9, so waiting until August 7th or so would be ok.
Once you DO decide to drop him, and take back a RB you previously
dropped, just send us an e-mail instructing us to drop Ricky
Williams, and what RB you want back.

We had this same situation a few years ago when Barry Sanders
retired. We will most likely resolve it the same way.
If he was just injured and out for the season, no changes
would be made, as all of our leagues are keeper leagues.
If the retirement came AFTER our drafts had started, once
again no change would be allowed.
But in this case, Owners that have Williams will be allowed
to drop him for one of the RB's they cut in the past 2 weeks.
Note: If you drop Williams now, and he changes his mind, you
still lose him, and he becomes a Free Agent.

Subject: Trading help
----------------------------------------------------
To everyone:
Please keep in mind that when trading away a "protected"
player, you need to get a good player back, or a decent
player and a high draft pick.
For example. If you were to offer a top #7 WR, like Hines
Ward, it would need to be for about a 1.5 to 1.7 pick.
The QB's, RB's and WR's (6 total) that were protected pretty
much equal what would be drafted in the first 6 rounds of a new
draft. Hines Ward would go around the late 3rd to early 4th round.
So trading him for a 4th rounder in a keeper league, with a
pre-season draft, you are in effect trading him for a 10th
rounder, not a 4th.

Eli Manning - With Collins already gone, I think
Manning will be pushed along TOO fast. He might
have some good value late in the season, but
should be a good QB by the mid to late 2005 season.
Philip Rivers - If Drew and Flutie are still there, Rivers
will learn on the bench for most of the 2004 season. But
he has a very good upside for 2005.
Ben Roethlisberger - Going to a great situation. The Steelers
know how to draft receivers, and he'll get some good "bench"
time learning this season. The team should be all his
in 2005.
J.P. Losman - No impact until 2005 at the earliest.

Steven Jackson - Dallas should have taken him, and you could
have put him in your starting lineup this season ! He's going
to see only sporadic time on the field if Faulk is healthy.
Chris Perry - Won't play much if Rudi is for real.
Kevin Jones - Should be the starter by week 2 or 3 this season.
Tatum Bell - Hmmm, Broncos RB. Okay, an easy 1,000 yard rusher
this season !
Julius Jones - Should replace Hambrick by mid-season.
WR / TE

Larry Fitzgerald - I think Arizona should have traded down for
more picks, they need much more than a stud WR. Fitz should start
though, but about that Cardinal QB situation ....
Kellen Winslow Jr - Can he reach Tony Gonzales status ? He sure
thinks he can...
Roy Williams - The Lions get another offensive stud. He and Kevin
Jones just might give Detroit a pretty good offense this season.
Reggie Williams - Should be a starter early this season.
Lee Evans - Should contribute by mid season
Michael Clayton - With "give-me-the-damn-ball" gone, Clayton
may have a starting job now.
